A Caledon OPP officer won’t face charges in relation to a crash involving a high-end sports car.
On August 10, 2017, the officer was travelling north on Highway 10 when a Lamborghini sped past going southbound.
The officer attempted to pursue the sports car but stopped after losing sight.
A short time later the officer found the vehicle in a ditch near McLaughlin Road and Boston Mills Road.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Brampton, suffered serious injuries. He was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, racing, and fail to comply with a probation order.
The Special Investigations Unit investigated the incident and on Wednesday (Oct. 10) announced that there were no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against the officer in relation to the serious injury sustained by the driver.
