The Hollywood awards season got underway Thursday (Dec. 6) with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announcing the nominees for the Golden Globes.
And while the spotlight was on the nominees, back in Alton, fashion designer Heather Chapplain continued to prepare for her big break at the upcoming awards ceremony.
Chapplain has been selected to be featured in the Golden Globe Awards’ Secret Room Events.
The Secret Room Events are VIP gifting suites for nominees and presenters. Chapplain will bring her Luxury Experience Denim, kimonos and other denim creations to the event.
In August, a manager with the Secret Room Events approached Chapplain because they were looking for someone who created handmade, ‘one-of-a-kind’ denim designs.
Chapplain’s Luxury Experience Denim is customized, wearable-art fashion. It’s an innovative and sustainable take on fashion design, called upcycling.
She says her business has grown, giving her an opportunity to take on others roles.
Chapplain hopes the Hollywood exposure turns into an opportunity to have her clothes worn by celebrities.
