Members of the OPP have laid charges related to an investigation at multiple hospitals in the GTA including Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville between August and September.
This investigation was prompted by several complaints of theft and fraud from patients and staff within the hospital. Multiple search warrants were executed where significant amounts of property were seized.
A 34-year-old female from Burlington has been charged with 34 counts of Fraud under $5000 13 counts of theft under $5000 along with several other charges.
Police believe there may be additional victims who were patients, Visitors and Staff Members in various units of the hospital. Investigators are asking any individuals who were at Headwaters during August and September to check their financial records for any unauthorized transactions.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Orillia OPP Major Crime Unit.
