Dufferin OPP has executed a search warrant at a residence on Muriel Street in Shelburne in connection with a break and enter investigation involving a business in Melancthon. During the search, officers located and seized footwear and clothing believed to have been used during the incident, along with property believed to have been stolen during the break and enter.
On February 21st, police responded to a report of a break and enter at the Shelburne Iron and Metal yard , where multiple items were stolen.
On February 27th. Dufferin OPP officers identified a vehicle believed to be connected to the investigation. Through further investigation, officers determined the vehicle had previously failed to stop for a R.I.D.E. program in the Shelburne earlier that same morning, which assisted investigators in identifying the individuals involved. Officers later located the vehicle and continued their investigation.
On March 6th, members of Dufferin OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Caledon CSCU, and Dufferin OPP frontline officers executed a search warrant at the Shelburne residence.
As a result of the investigation, officers identified two individuals believed to be responsible for the break and enter. Warrants were subsequently issued, and both accused individuals have since been located and arrested. Additional property believed to be connected to the break and enter was also recovered during the investigation.
