Attention Alton residents and businesses: Peel Region is implementing a one-year, time-of-day truck prohibition pilot starting now.
The pilot is aimed at improving community safety, reducing noise, and supporting pedestrian-friendly environments in the village.
Regional Road 136 (Porterfield Road / Queen Street East / Main Street), from Regional Road 24 (Charleston Sideroad) to Dufferin County Road 109
Truck access is prohibited during the following times:
Monday to Friday
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
In addition, all day on weekends and statutory holidays.
If you see trucks moving through the village during prohibited access, it is suggested that you take a picture that identifies place and time. Evidence made available to The O.P.P. may be helpful.
