Caledon drivers: Ontario gas prices are about to shoot up again.
The upcoming price increase follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran has ended, with the two nations exchanging fire with each other.
Trump called off the ceasefire after Iran struck several vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Gas prices will fall by two cents a litre today (Thursday) and then rise by five cents on Friday. That would put GTA regular-grade gasoline prices to a morning (peak) rate of 169.9 cents per litre.
As for diesel, an increase of 13 cents per litre is expected on Friday. That would put GTA diesel prices to a morning (peak) rate of 198.9 cents per litre.
Friday’s increases could be just the start of more to come.
