The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is now accepting registrations for Junior (Year 1) and Senior (Year 2) Kindergarten for the September 2026 school year.
Families can register online or in person and are encouraged to complete registration early. Click here to find your child’s home school.
The HDSB says their Kindergarten program focuses on building curiosity, creativity, and early literacy and math skills in a welcoming, play-based learning environment. Families can learn more here or by attending one of the board’s remaining Calling All Three-Year-Olds Open Houses, where parents and children can explore their future school.
To register, families will need documents proving address, age, and citizenship, and any applicable custody documentation. Children entering Junior Kindergarten must be four years old by December 31st, and those entering Senior Kindergarten must be five by the same date.
The HDSB Welcome Centre will also host virtual Kindergarten information sessions in February 2026 for new and returning families. These sessions will provide details about the full-day Kindergarten program, routines, and settlement support. Families can find registration details here.
