Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch is inviting teens to take part in The Red Scarf Project for Teens, an in-person program that combines creativity, community service, and compassion.
The initiative supports World AIDS Day on December 1st, when red scarves, mittens, and hats are displayed in communities to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and show support for those affected.
Participants aged 13 to 17 will learn simple knitting techniques to create red scarves that will be donated to The Positive Health Network, which serves Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk, and Brant. Teens can also earn high school volunteer hours for their involvement. All materials will be provided, and both beginners and experienced knitters are welcome.
Sessions will take place at the Beaty Branch Program Room from October 8th through November 27th, with multiple evening workshops to ensure participants have time to complete their projects. Teens can also track their progress digitally by joining The Red Scarf Project for Teens 2025 Challenge on Beanstack.
Registration is required, and spots are limited.
