Northumberland OPP have recovered a stolen vehicle and charged two individuals from Caledon.
On September 29, at about 6:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a tractor-trailer believed to have been stolen from Cornwall and travelling on the 401 WB from Belleville.
OPP tried to stop the vehicle, but it failed to comply and exited the highway at County Road 25.
Officers were at the location shortly after the driver stopped the vehicle spanning the roadway.
Two people fled on foot and both were taken into custody shortly afterwards.
A 25-year-old male from Caledon, has been charged with:
– Theft of motor vehicle
– Theft over $5,000
– Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – two counts
– Mischief under $5,000
and
– Dangerous operation
A 21-year-old male from Caledon, has been charged with:
– Theft of motor vehicle
– Possession break in instruments
– Theft over $5,000
– Mischief under $5,000
