Just as Caledon and Dufferin County continue the roll-out of automated speed enforcement cameras, Ontario Premier Doug Ford says “Hopefully the cities will get rid of them” and has called them a tax grab. Ford says if municipalities don’t get rid of the cameras on their own, he will get rid of them. In Toronto, 16 Automated cameras were vandalized in one evening. Opposition leader Marit Stiles calls the Premier’s comments “Idiotic” saying she thinks the cameras boost safety.
