The Milton Public Library (MPL) is making it easier than ever for residents to access books and materials with the launch of its new Hold Lockers.
Starting this month, patrons can pick up and return items at lockers located at the Milton Sports Centre and the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, in addition to MPL’s three branch libraries.
The initiative, identified in MPL’s Library Master Plan, is designed to meet the needs of Milton’s rapidly growing and diverse population by providing convenient, self-serve access to library services beyond traditional spaces. Along with hold pickups, the lockers also offer a small rotating “Browse and Borrow” collection for on-the-spot checkouts.
“Milton is one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada, and Milton Public Library is committed to meeting our residents where they are,” saysSarah Douglas-Murray, CEO and Chief Librarian. “Hold Lockers make it easier than ever for patrons to enjoy the benefits of the library at times and places that are convenient for them.”
A formal launch ceremony will take place on Monday, September 15th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Milton Sports Centre, complete with a ribbon cutting to mark the new service.
