The Town of Orangeville is warning residents about a roofing scam, involving someone falsely claiming to be a Town-hired contractor.
The person is going door-to-door, reportedly pressuring homeowners to make unnecessary repairs by threatening Town-enforced property liens.
The Town does not hire contractors for residential roof inspections, residents who encounter the scam are urged to contact Dufferin OPP.
