The Town of Milton has received its quarterly payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
Four times a year, the Town receives a payment from OLG for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk. Milton just received $2,013,164. This is the first of four payments over the fiscal year. During OLG’s last fiscal year, Milton received $6,489,546. Since the gaming site opened in August 1999, Milton has received $150,971,400.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG is a strong partner that provides substantial benefits to Milton,” says Zee Hamid, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “In addition to creating jobs at Elements Casino Mohawk, important investments in Milton’s public services are made possible through OLG’s sharing of casino revenue.”
The Town of Milton uses part of the funding it receives from OLG for the Milton Community Fund Program.
Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.3 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
