The spotlight is turning to Acton as the beloved CBC series Still Standing comes to town to film a feature episode.
The Canadian show, hosted by comedian and Murdoch Mysteries star Jonny Harris, highlights communities that have faced challenges with resilience and heart – and Acton’s story is ready to be told.
Mayor Ann Lawlor expressed her excitement, sharing that she advocated strongly for Acton to be selected.
“When I heard that Acton was being considered… I knew this was an opportunity we couldn’t miss,” she said. “My persistence paid off!”
Throughout the week of May 18th, Harris will explore Acton, meeting local residents and filming at recognizable landmarks. The episode will wrap with a free live comedy show hosted by Harris at Acton District School on Friday, May 23rd at 7 p.m. Seating is first come, first served.
The episode is expected to air this fall on CBC TV and CBC Gem, giving all of Canada a chance to see what makes Acton so special.
