You might qualify for free transit in Milton!
Starting in 2025, Milton Transit will match Halton Region’s Subsidized Passes for Low Income Transit (SPLIT) program, providing free transit to eligible Milton residents.
Administered by the Halton Region, the SPLIT program provides a 100% subsidy on transit tickets and passes for eligible low-income Milton residents starting in 2025. The program ensures that local transit is more accessible and affordable for those in need.
The following individuals may be eligible for the SPLIT program:
- Students, adults, or seniors living with low income in Halton Region.
- Individuals receiving assistance from Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program.
- Government and privately sponsored refugees.
- Registered ActiVan or Taxi Scrip Program users with low income living in Halton Hills.
You can apply here. January passes will be available starting mid-December.
Individuals will need to reapply yearly to maintain eligibility.
Approved program participants can pick up their passes and tickets at Town Hall, located at 150 Mary Street.
