The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says a Milton man is facing charges following an attempted vehicle theft at the Milton GO station.
On Tuesday, April 2nd, at roughly 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a male suspect attempting to steal vehicles from the station parking lot. Witnesses on scene stopped thefts and contacted police. The man was located a short distance away. Upon arrest, he was found to be in possession of a large and easily accessible kitchen knife. The knife was not used during the occurrence and no physical injuries were sustained.
As a result of the investigation 25-year-old Jesse Zarger has been charged with the following:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
At the time of the offences, Zarger was on five different forms of release stemming from previous charges.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
