The Milton Fire Department has announced that its burn ban has been lifted.
Residents can now enjoy open outdoor fires.
This comes just in time for Canada Day celebrations and the long weekend.

Just like that, the Milton Fire Department says a burn ban is back in place for the area.
It’s the second this week that a burn ban was placed, and this latest one comes roughly 24 hours after the last one ended. If you’re wondering there’s a burn ban, smoke from wildfires in Northern Ontario and Quebec has made its way down to Milton.
According to the Ontario Government, a burn ban includes:
“all burning, including grass, debris and campfires, even when using an outdoor fire grate, fire place or fire pit.”
The burn ban will be lifted once air quality improves around town. Until then, avoid any open fires outdoors.
With the poor air quality, it’s important to remember to limit outdoor activity. The smoke is not good for your lungs and can seriously harm your health. Stay inside, and drink plenty of water when outdoors.
We’ll let you know when the burn ban is eventually lifted.
