It’s going to be McHappy Day on Wednesday, May 10th in Milton and around Canada.
McDonald’s Canada announced this month that Canadian actor Simu Liu will be the official ambassador of McHappy Day. As the ambassador, Simu will be working alongside McDonald’s Canada to rally Canadians leading up to and on McHappy Day to raise critical funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and other local children’s charities across Canada.
“I am thrilled to be part of McHappy Day this year and to support RMHC and local children’s charities across the country,” said Simu Liu. “RMHC has been a vital support for thousands of families during their most difficult times, and I am happy to be part of the fundraising initiative this year. It’s so important to come together as a community to help those in need, and I look forward to working with RMHC and McDonald’s to make a difference.”
In Milton, the purchase of single menu items at local McDonalds locations will support the Milton District Hospital Foundation. Last year, we spoke with local franchise owner Cam Binnie on the importance of the day. Hear what he had to say here.
In an average year, RMHC supports over 26,000 families from more than 3,400 communities across Canada.
Last year, McDonald’s Canada set a goal to donate over $70 million to RMHC by 2026. This will help to nearly double the number of bedrooms for families across Canada over the next 10 years (2022-2032).
You don’t have to go in the store to help out! McDonalds says McHappy Day applies to the Drive-Thru, mobile orders on the McDonalds app, and any delivery orders (McDelivery, Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes or DoorDash).
