We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were seven cases across Halton last week:
On Monday, March 20th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Guelph Line and Mount Forest Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 46-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Tuesday, March 21st, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a collision in the area of Weller Crossing and Waters Boulevard in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 43-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Wednesday, March 22nd, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Guelph Line and New Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 41-year-old Burlington woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Wednesday, March 22nd, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Guelph Line and 25 Sideroad in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 64-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, March 23rd, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Walkers Line and 12 Sideroad in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 37-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, March 23rd, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Ghent Avenue and Brant Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Hamilton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, March 24th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Lakeshore Road West and Westdale Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 41-year-old Oakville woman was charged with operation while impaired.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
