The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says a cyclist is dead after being struck by a vehicle.
The collision happened at roughly 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9th on Upper Middle Road, west of Eighth Line in Oakville.
The release says a Grey four door motor vehicle had been travelling eastbound on Upper Middle Road when it hit a cyclist that was travelling in the same direction. The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The cyclist was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. They died shortly after.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit has since taken carriage of the investigation.
Halton Police are requesting that any witnesses to this collision or any residents who may be in possession of video surveillance footage in the area of Eighth Line and Upper Middle Road contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
