About the County’s MCR Phase II:
Dufferin County is currently home to 67,000 people and is planning to exceed 100,000 people and 40,000 jobs by 2051.
To address this planned increase in population, the County is working on its Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR), a series of studies that will influence Dufferin’s Official Plan and shape the growth of Dufferin County for the next 30 years.
The County’s MCR Phase II will focus on:
- Expanding the settlement boundaries of Grand Valley and Shelburne
- Expanding the amount of protected farmland by designating it prime agricultural lands
- Expanding and clarifying where natural features and protected lands are located in Dufferin County
This in-person Statutory Open House and virtual Public Information Centre are part of the County’s MCR Phase II process.
Attendees will also learn more about the County’s transportation goals, objectives, existing travel conditions and community characteristics, and can provide input on transportation infrastructure.
This will support the County as it plans for changes and expansions to its transportation network and develops and implements its Master Transportation Plan.
