The Halton Region has put out a list of beaches in the area that are safe and unsafe for swimming.
Halton Region Public Health has been monitoring local public beaches since June to help ensure safe water quality for swimmers.
Beaches are routinely sampled every Wednesday until Labour Day weekend as part of the Region’s commitment to protect the safety, health and well-being of all Halton residents.
As of Wednesday, August 24th, the following beaches are safe to swim in due to the water quality report from Halton Region Public Health:
- Beachway Park in Burlington – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
- Brant Street Beach in Burlington – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
- Bronte Beach Park in Oakville – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
- Coronation Park East in Oakville – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
- Coronation Park West in Oakville – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
- South Shell Park Beach in Oakville – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
- Kelso Beach in Milton – tested safe for swimming on August 24th
However, Prospect Park Old Beach in Acton continues to test as unsafe.

*Due to the processing time of lab results, there is a delay in when the water is sampled and when results are received. Since water quality can change day-to-day, or even hour-to-hour depending on many factors, beach goers cannot rely only on lab results.
