Shelburne’s elementary schools are bursting at the seems and they finally got a helping hand from the province.
Hyland Heights Elementary School received just over $2 million for an expansion from the 2019/20 Capital Priorities Grant Funding.
Upper Grand School Board spokesperson, Heather Loney says the funds are very welcome news for the school that is growing right alongside of its community.
The funding will create 90 more pupil places at Hyland Heights, bringing the school’s capacity up to 510.
Loney says the funds will be enough to construct 4 more classrooms.
