With a trend towards a more eco-friendly transportation system, E-bikes are starting to catch on in North America.
Paul Massingberd recently opened E-Star Ride in Orangeville where he sells and rents the battery operated cycles.
He says when the bikes first came on the market they were popular with people who had lost their license for various reasons, but now more and more people are looking at them as an alternative to vehicles.
Massingberd says part of the popularity of the bikes is that they don’t require insurance or a license, just a helmet, and be 16 years of age or older.
