Caledon OPP has charged an individual following a theft in Bolton.
On October 4th, at about 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the area of McEwan Drive East and Highway 50, in Bolton. The complainant advised a lone individual, who appeared to be in possession of a firearm, stole several products before fleeing the location on foot.
Shortly after, officers located the suspect and took them into custody. Investigators later recovered the firearm that was utilized during the incident, which was found to be an imitation airsoft handgun.
A 28-year-old from Caledon was charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
- Obstruct peace officer
- Resist peace officer
- Theft under $5000
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
