Dufferin OPP along with Dufferin County EMS attended a serious motorcycle collision in Melancthon .
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers attended River Road between Mill Street and Mulmur-Melancthon Townline for the report of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
The initial investigation has determined that a group of motorcyclists were travelling on River Road when one motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree.
As a result of the collision, the lone motorcycle driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre.
The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video footage is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP 1-888-310-1122.
