Dufferin OPP has arrested one individual in connection with a break and enter at a business in Orangeville and recovered approximately $9,000 worth of stolen property.
On July 18th, at approximately 10 a.m., Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a break and enter at Canadian Tire, on First Street in Orangeville. Police were advised that multiple storage containers at the rear of the property had been broken into sometime overnight.
As a result of the investigation, officers identified a suspect and suspect vehicle captured on surveillance footage at the time of the incident.
On July 28th, Dufferin OPP officers located the suspect vehicle, a GMC Yukon, and arrested the driver. During the arrest, the individual was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
Members of the Dufferin OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Nottawasaga CSCU, and Dufferin OPP frontline officers subsequently executed a search warrant at a residence in Orangeville and a second address in East Garafraxa.
As a result of the search, investigators recovered approximately $9,000 worth of stolen property. All recovered property was returned to its rightful owner.
A 42-year-old male from Orangeville, has been charged.
The following items were seized:
- Approximately $9,000 worth of stolen merchandise, including children’s play structures, bike racks, trampolines, temporary garages, and sheds.
- Approximately 9.5 grams of methamphetamine.
