Dufferin OPP spent the weekend promoting the “Lock It or Lose It” crime prevention campaign in Shelburne and Grand Valley.
The initiative was assigned to members of the Dufferin OPP Auxiliary Unit, who worked diligently conducting foot patrols in commercial and residential areas. Auxiliary members engaged with residents and provided education on simple steps they can take to protect their vehicles, homes, and outbuildings from theft.
The “Lock It or Lose It” campaign focuses on preventing crimes of opportunity. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and property, remove valuables from view, and secure items such as keys, wallets, electronics, tools, and other personal belongings.
