A 19-year-old male from Orangeville has been charged after being stopped by Dufferin OPP travelling 157 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone — 97 km/h over the speed limit on B Line in Orangeville.
The driver also registered an alert at the roadside. As a result, the driver was charged with:
• Stunt Driving
• Driving 50 km/h or more over the posted speed limit
• Novice Driver with a Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero
Dufferin OPP reminds all drivers that excessive speed and alcohol can have serious consequences. Speed limits are in place to keep everyone safe, and choosing to ignore them puts all road users at risk.
