Arrest made in connection with serious fail to remain collision following a gas theft in Mansfield.
On May 13th, at about 2:45 p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to the Pioneer gas station.
The investigation revealed that a male suspect operating a black SUV with an attached camper trailer allegedly tried to leave the gas station without paying for fuel. During the incident, the gas station attendant tried to intervene and was struck by the vehicle.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre for treatment.
On May 14th, members of the Nipigon Detachment of the OPP located the vehicle and trailer. A 53-year-old male from Brampton was arrested and charged.
The gas station attendant remains in hospital in stable condition.
