The recent death of an Ottawa crossing guard, who was struck and killed while on duty on March 23, is a heartbreaking reminder of the risks our crossing guards face every single day.
Ontario law is clear: all drivers and cyclists must stop when a crossing guard raises their sign and remain stopped until every child AND the crossing guard have fully cleared the road.
