Happy Friday!
A Blowing Snow Advisory is in effect for the area:
“A low pressure system will push into the region on Friday which will bring snow across the areas with 4 to 8 cm possible by Friday evening. Strong northwesterly winds will develop behind the low which will lead to widespread blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility. Visibility may even be near zero for wind-prone and exposed areas.
“Very cold wind chills are also expected to develop Friday night into Saturday morning.
“Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables.
‘Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility. Road closures are possible.
“Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If you become lost or stranded, remain where you are until conditions improve. Protect yourself from wind, cold and disorientation by staying sheltered, indoors or with your vehicle.”
