- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The second arrest happened shortly after 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 29th, when officers on patrol observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Mayfield Road near Airport Road. A 25-year-old from Tottenham was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Minutes later, at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers came across a vehicle stopped on the roadway near Innis Lake Road and Castlederg Sideroad. Following a traffic stop and investigation, a 24-year-old Caledon resident was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
All three accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. Police say the vehicles involved were impounded for seven days and the drivers’ licences were suspended for 90 days.
Caledon OPP continue to remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when driving, noting impaired driving remains a serious risk on local roads.
