The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) is inviting community members with financial and business expertise to apply for a volunteer position on its Audit Committee.
The school board is seeking one eligible community member to serve a three-year term beginning May 1st. The Audit Committee plays a key role in providing assurance to the Ministry of Education-appointed Supervisor that the board has appropriate policies, systems, and financial controls in place to protect assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
To be eligible, applicants must be a Catholic school supporter living within the DPCDSB jurisdiction and have accounting, financial management, or relevant business experience that supports an understanding of public-sector accounting and auditing standards. Applicants must not be employed by any school board, nor have an immediate family member employed by the DPCDSB.
The time commitment includes attending at least four meetings per year, each lasting up to two hours. The selection committee includes the Ministry-appointed Supervisor, the Director of Education, and the Senior Business Official. The initial appointment is for up to three years, with the possibility of one additional term.
Interested applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest, resume, reference, and a pastoral reference confirming eligibility. Applications must be received by Thursday, February 5th, at 4:00 p.m. and can be mailed or emailed to Theresa Davis, General Manager of Human Resources, DPCDSB, at theresa.davis@dpcdsb.org.
