The County of Dufferin regrets to share the passing of Roy Hillis, a former Warden of Dufferin County and Reeve of East Garafraxa.
Former Warden Hillis began the first 20 years of his life as a farmer on his 100-acre farm. He earned a degree of public health and transitioned into a 20-year career as the Director of Public Health for the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health department. His leadership lead him to seek roles in public council, including the role of Warden for the County in 1968.
The flag at the Zina Street Courthouse and Administrative Offices will be lowered to half-mast until Thursday in honour of the former Warden’s career and life.
