Caledon OPP are currently investigating a shooting incident.
On November 25th, at about 4:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in front of a residence on Chinguacousy Road, in Caledon. No injuries were sustained.
Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident of extortion.
Based on recent extortion cases investigated by Caledon OPP, many involve phone calls or text messages from a ‘WhatsApp’ number, threatening violence unless a large sum of money is paid, and mentioning knowledge of the individual’s home or workplace.
