The Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is getting things ready for its annual Fill A Crib campaign.
It’s an initiative that helps stock the organization’s Infant Food Bank with essential supplies for vulnerable, at-risk, and low-income families.
Created in 2017, the campaign has become increasingly vital as food insecurity and inflation continue to rise. MCRC says it is now supporting a record number of babies, with demand up 55% since 2020.
Community members are encouraged to donate items urgently needed to keep shelves stocked for more than 165 babies each month. Requested donations include:
- diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6
- baby food and cereal
- powdered formula (Enfamil A+, Similac, Good Start)
- baby wipes
- menstrual pads
