And then there was one!
School bus drivers in Georgetown are set to vote on a tentative agreement with First Student Canada on Monday, November 10th, which will determine whether they ratify their first contract or move to strike the same day. The unit’s 110 members, who voted 97% in favour of strike action in June, serve routes for the Halton Catholic and Halton District School Boards, as well as Conseil Scolaire Catholique MonAvenir and Conseil Scolaire Viamonde, impacting about 6,000 students in Georgetown, Milton, and Acton.
Meanwhile, First Student bus drivers in Owen Sound and Kincardine ratified new three-year contracts with Unifor Local 4268, including 13% wage increases and improved benefits. Both agreements will expire March 31st, 2028.
We’ll update you on Monday when a decision is made.
