The Milton Public Library, alongside Indigenous members of the Canadian Armed Forces, local dignitaries, and students from P.L. Robertson Public School, will hold a special ceremony to honour Indigenous veterans and their contributions to Canada.
The event will include stories from serving Indigenous members, student presentations, and the laying of a beaded poppy wreath created by local youth.

Attendees will also take part in a traditional smudging ceremony, emphasizing cultural respect and reconciliation. Master Warrant Officer Leim Joe will deliver a video address, and D.J. White of the Canadian Armed Forces will speak on Indigenous military service.
The ceremony will be on Friday, November 7th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Beaty library branch, located at 945 Fourth Line in Milton.
Indigenous Veterans Day is on Saturday, November 8th.
