Milton MPP Zee Hamid visited The Darling Home for Kids recently to announce a $176,400 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to help create a dedicated Family Support Room.
The new space will expand access to therapeutic programs and connect medically complex children and their families with support services and each other.
“This investment will help ensure that children receive the vital care and support they need during difficult times,” says MPP Hamid.
CEO Kristin Horrell called the grant “truly transformational,” saying it will build a space filled with “comfort, hope, and joy.”
The Family Support Room is part of a 10,000-square-foot expansion of The Darling Home for Kids, which has provided over 700,000 hours of service since opening in 2004.
