The Nottawasaga Detachment of the OPP Major Crime Unit has charged one individual in relation to a historical sexual assault investigation. On Sunday, June 1st, 2025, officers entered into an investigation after receiving a report of a sexual assault that occurred in the community of Alliston dating back to March 2005. As a result of this investigation, a 71-year-old of Orangeville, has been charged with the following offences: Sexual Assault Sexual Exploitation The accused was arrested and subsequently released. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in early October.
