The Shelburne Town Hall Art Gallery is proud to present Threads
and Strokes: A Tapestry of Expression, the debut solo exhibition by Canadian artist
Megan Mare. The exhibition runs from September 8 to 26, with an opening reception
on Sunday, September 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 203 Main Street East,
Shelburne.

This vibrant collection features plaster and pigment paintings, bleach-dyed textiles, and
layered mixed media works that explore the intersection of colour, texture, and form.
Mare’s work invites viewers into a tactile conversation where traditional craft techniques
are reimagined through a contemporary lens.
Megan Mare is a graduate of OCAD University and a practicing artist and facilitator at
Streams Community Hub. Her work has previously been featured in group exhibitions
such as the Streams Town Hall Art Gallery Takeover and the Holiday Art Show and
Sale. Threads and Strokes marks a significant milestone in her artistic journey.
