The heat wave has come and passed, and that means good things for Milton residents.
After a week of being in place, Milton Fire & Rescue Services has lifted the burn ban for the community.
Temperatures have cooled for the week, dropping to the low 20s. They’ll pick up again at the end of the week, so we’ll keep an eye on any future announcements from the Town of Milton, MFD, and Halton Region.

The sunny sky is nice to enjoy, but the consistent dry and hot weather has caused some concerns for Milton Fire & Rescue Services.
They have officially declared a burn ban for residents in the area.
According to the Ontario Government, a burn ban includes:
“all burning, including grass, debris and campfires, even when using an outdoor fire grate, fire place or fire pit.”
The burn ban will be lifted once we receive some rain and/or cooler temperatures. Until then, avoid any open fires outdoors.
A Heat Warning is currently in place in Milton. The forecast from Environment Canada is projecting a possible storm for Milton and the surrounding area; however, it’s not a guarantee, which means it might remain hot and dry for the rest of the week.
