Orangeville Fire says a total fire ban is in effect for several parts of Dufferin County.
The ban has been put in place due to increasingly dry conditions and a heightened risk of fire.
The fire ban applies to the Town of Mono, East Garafraxa, and Amaranth.
While the Town of Orangeville is not currently included in the ban, residents are being urged to use caution if they choose to have a recreational fire.
The ban includes all open-air burning such as bonfires, recreational fires, construction burns, and any other type of outdoor fire.
The only exceptions are approved gas-fired or charcoal barbecues.
