These beaches were tested recently, and the results have shown that residents should avoid the water at a majority of the beaches across Halton.
Here’s are the results:
Milton
- Kelso Beach at 5234 Kelso Road – SAFE TO SWIM
- This includes the Kelso Cove Waterpark – SAFE TO SWIM
Burlington
- Beachway Park at 1094 Lakeshore Road – SAFE TO SWIM
- Brant Street Beach at Lakeshore Road – SAFE TO SWIM
Oakville
- Bronte Beach Park at Lakeshore Road – sampled on Wednesday, July 23rd – unsafe to swim (E. coli)
Halton Hills
- Prospect Park Old Beach at 30 Park Avenue in Acton – unsafe to swim (E. coli)
When it comes to water quality, residents are told to read the signs and notices posted at the beach before going in the water. Water quality conditions reflect E. coli counts on the date of water sample collection.
These samples are done regularly, but the Region notes that beach water quality can change day-to-day, even hour-to-hour, following a heavy rainfall, high winds or wave activity. If you are unable to see your feet when standing at waist depth of an adult, avoid swimming in the water.
