Families are invited to enjoy the latest StoryWalk® installation at the Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch garden this summer: Biindigen! Amik Says Welcome! by Nancy Cooper.
The story follows Amik the beaver and her little sister Nishiime as they prepare for a family reunion. When Nishiime gets overwhelmed and disappears into the woods, the cousins search for her, meeting other woodland creatures along the way. Readers will learn Anishinaabe words and discover the ecological importance of beavers through a fun, fact-filled journey.
Biindigen! Amik Says Welcome! blends lively illustrations with Indigenous languages and perspectives, encouraging young readers to explore themes of community, ecology, and belonging.
This free event is running from Monday, July 14th to Wednesday, August 27th during library hours at the Beaty Branch, located at 945 Fourth line.
