A Caledon resident is facing multiple charges after being arrested twice in the same month for impaired driving.
On Sunday, June 8th, at around 3:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a report of an intoxicated individual attempting to drive away from a local business near Airport Road and Old Church Road. Officers determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested the individual. Charges included operation while impaired, failure to comply with demand, public intoxication, and driving while under suspension. The driver’s vehicle was impounded for seven days and their licence suspended for 90 days.
Just weeks later, on Monday, June 30th, at around 5:00 p.m., OPP were called again to the same area for a similar report. Officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop, and arrested the same individual after determining their ability to drive was again impaired. The second incident led to new charges of impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and driving while under suspension.
The 40-year-old Caledon resident is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Police remind the public that impaired driving is a serious offence and will not be tolerated.
