A missing Hamilton man might be in the Milton area.
Their search for 62-year-old John Edwards continues. He’s been missing since Wednesday, June 11th, after disappearing from St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas. Edwards lives with cognitive impairments similar to dementia, and authorities are growing increasingly concerned for his well-being given the extended time he’s been missing and recent high temperatures.
While the last confirmed sighting of Mr. Edwards was shortly after 4:00 p.m. on June 11th near Milgrove Side Road in Hamilton, a tip from Milton has given investigators reason to believe he may have been seen in the area. A man matching Mr. Edwards’ description was reportedly walking east along the pipeline between Bennett Boulevard and Thompson Road South at around 11:00 a.m. on either Friday, June 20th or Saturday, June 21st. While the exact date remains unclear, the time frame is consistent, and police are asking Milton residents and businesses to review surveillance or dashcam footage from those days and locations.
Edwards does not have a phone, money, or ID, and police say his movements appear random and unpredictable, making community assistance crucial. Despite door-to-door canvassing in the Milton neighbourhood, no new leads have surfaced.
He is described by Hamilton Police as:
- White male
- 62 years old
- 5’11”
- approx. 214 lbs
- Shoulder-length brown hair
- brown eyes
- Walks with a slight shuffle
- May be carrying a small, light-coloured ball
- Last seen wearing baggy shorts, a striped blue T-shirt, white socks, running shoes, and possibly a ball cap
Check your home or vehicle cameras:

- Pipeline trail between Bennett Blvd and Thompson Rd South in Milton – June 20 or 21 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
