The Town of Orangeville is warning residents about suspicious calls regarding water meter replacements. Some residents have reported receiving calls from someone offering a $400 rebate to replace their water meter.
The Town confirms that all water meter replacements are free of charge and there is no rebate involved.
If you get a call like this:

Ask for the caller’s name, organization, and ID number.

Then call the Town to verify if the caller is registered and if a visit is scheduled.
