The Milton Historical Society is celebrating a major step forward in preserving the town’s rich past, thanks to a $9,400 grant from the Community Foundation of Halton North (CFHN).
This funding will support the digitization of more than 350,000 historic photos and documents – a massive collection that spans 200 years of Milton’s history. The project is expected to take place over the next ten years, with the grant being used to purchase new computer equipment to make the work possible.
Once completed, the initiative will ensure that Milton’s history is preserved and accessible for future generations. The Historical Society extended thanks to CFHN team members Brad Clements, Sue Lawrenson, Joy Anderson, Anne Eadie, and others for supporting what they called a critical project for the community.
